My name is Laurel Cole, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Grand Junction City Council. Our city is a vibrant community that I deeply care about. I am running for council because I believe in transparency, communication and careful planning that supports growth while protecting the culture of Grand Junction.
For those who do not yet know me, I am the Executive Director of a local nonprofit and have been heavily involved in the community. I have served on multiple advisory and stakeholder groups for the City, as well as the Governmental Affairs Committee for the Housing & Building Association (HBA).
I believe that increasing communication and transparency will help to build trust between the council and the community, and that together we can address the issues our community is facing.
I am a member of this community and dedicated to public service. With so many changes occurring in Grand Junction, I believe it is time to come together rather than pull apart.
With a background in strategic planning and fiscal accountability, I have the experience needed to help guide our city towards a prosperous future. I am committed to making balanced and pragmatic decisions that will support careful, planned growth while preserving the unique culture that makes Grand Junction so special.
I love the Grand Junction—the events, the local businesses, the beautiful open spaces, and the friendly neighborhoods. It is this culture that binds us together and makes Grand Junction a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. As a member of the city council, I will work tirelessly to protect and enhance this culture.
If elected, I promise to bring a thoughtful and strategic approach to the council. I will prioritize transparent communication and community involvement, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued. Together, we can make Grand Junction an even better place for all.
Thank you for your support and look forward to Building a Stronger Grand Junction Together!
